3D ROBOT VISION STEREO SENSOR

Laser-free stereovision: Position measurement with six degrees of freedom using edges, holes, and radiuses

The optical 3D robot vision stereo sensor can determine positions and measure objects in all six degrees of freedom by using edges, holes, curves or parts of the object that can be described by characteristic elements, edges, lines or polynome-like path contours. The sensor can be mounted stationary as well as on the robot arm or handling system. To achieve even higher precision, multiple sensors can be used simultaneously.

Technical Characteristics:

· 3D stereo measurement by any given characteristic of geometry
· Measurement using any possible combination of
  characteristics
· Flexible configuration of sensor location (stationary or mobile)
· Automatic calibration
· Sub-pixel precision at any given distance; redundant
  measurement
· Measurement without reference points, stripe projection
  supplemental, color independent
· No single-point measurement, no laser triangulation

Typical applications:

· Position, distance and angle measurement
· Determination of coordinates, edge measurement
· Contour measurement
· Seam measurement
· Robot guidance
· Assembly guidance
· Car body position determination
· Vehicle guidance
· Complex un-racking
