Girls' Day: ISRA VISION gives schoolgirls an insight into technical professions and machine vision

Darmstadt, Germany, April 26, 2024

Yesterday, ISRA VISION GmbH welcomed a group of 15 girls to the company's headquarters in Darmstadt. The young students got the opportunity to get a close insight into the company and the new Darmstadt site as a part of the nationwide Girls’ Day program, as well as career- and training opportunities within the area of machine vision.

"As a part of the Girls' Day, we have the wonderful opportunity to show female students the variety of career opportunities in a high-tec company driven by innovation. Girls' Day is a great occasion to bring girls closer to technical professions. With this initiative, we hope that we can ignite the spark that makes them think about a profession and career in a technology company like ours," says Tomas Lundin, Managing Director of ISRA VISION GmbH and President of the Machine Vision Solutions Division.

After a business overview presentation of ISRA VISION, the students gained further insights into the areas of surface inspection and robot guidance during a tour of the production facilities. Here, they could discover how sensors can give the robot artificial eyes or the extreme speed that a sensor can check different materials – up to 2.500 meters per second. To make it more practical, the color, shape and size of gummy bears and cookies were checked with the help of a vision system. The day was rounded off with constructive tips for writing a cover letter and a curriculum vitae to prepare them for their future professional career.

Girls' Day is a nationwide orientation day for girls' career- and study orientation. The day is intended to help expand and improve the career opportunities of girls in occupational fields in which women have so far been underrepresented, for example in technological and scientific fields (MINT) as well as in skilled trades.

At ISRA VISION, young talents have a wide range of entry opportunities, for example through vocational training as an industrial clerk or as a warehouse logistics specialist. You can find more information about the training opportunities at ISRA VISION here.
