Inspected for high gloss - fully automatic surface inspection from the complete car body to the smallest trim panel
Customers expect new cars to have flawless surfaces. Even minimal scratches or paint defects on the body or add-on parts such as bumpers or B-pillars lead to expensive complaints, and faulty curved displays or mirrors can impair driving safety. Yet painted, reflective, and, even more so, curved surfaces are often extremely sensitive and, therefore, difficult to inspect. Nevertheless, precise quality control inspections are essential for manufacturers. Manual visual inspection processes are subject to deviations in terms of reproducibility and defect classification – even for trained employees.
ISRA VISION's solutions for fully automated surface inspection in automotive production consistently and objectively detect and evaluate defects on almost all glossy automotive components. Painted surfaces are inspected cost-effectively, and defects are found according to reproducible specifications.
Costly complaints and manual rework to repair defects are drastically reduced while product quality is increased and consistently assured. Even at short cycle times, all relevant defects are detected at an early stage and the relevant components are reworked or sorted out.
Paint inspection for car body surfaces
The CarPaintVision (CPV) surface inspection system detects and classifies all relevant paint defects on car body surfaces in a cycle-time-neutral manner – on-the-fly or stop & go. With modern hybrid-technology, almost all car paint defects are detected at a rate of well over 98.5%. Inspection data is evaluated in the process cycle using proven algorithms and classified according to individual customer specifications. Defect information is immediately available for continuous optimization of the production process. Optionally, the detected defects can be automatically marked for rework in a downstream station.

Rear and exterior mirrors
A flawless rearview or exterior mirror not only has to have a 100% flawless surface but also a 100% correct curvature. The SpecGAGE3D automated optical inspection system uses deflectometry to check both in a time-saving manner in just one measurement pass. Deviations are documented, and processes can be adjusted promptly.

Head-up display
Only with a perfect shape and defect-free, reflective coating head-up displays generate distortion-free images. The automated shape and surface inspection with SpecGAGE3D detects even the smallest shape deviations and defects of head-up display deflection mirrors, which - if left undetected - can lead to distorted or faulty imaging and thus to impaired driving safety.
