Camera-based 3D inline inspection of parabolic mirrors
FORMSCAN-Solar is a fully-automated 3D inline inspection system developed especially for the demanding requirements of parabolic mirror production, measuring a complete mirror in just 10 seconds. The system consists of standard components, allowing it to be easily and flexibly adjusted to the circumstances of each production line.
Algorithms developed especially for parabolic mirrors enable precise analysis of typical CSP quality criteria (FDx, FDy, SDxy SDy, IC, ICSun) and all CSP sizes (e.g. RP1-6, SNT2, flat panes). FORMSCAN-Solar also precisely measures production parameters such as planarity and curvature. Deviation of the mirror angle from the setpoint (focus deviation) is measured using deflectometry.
Glass that does not meet the required quality specifications is automatically removed and is not conveyed to downstream processes. FORMSCAN-Solar therefore both saves costs and ensures product quality. The system also automatically saves measurement data to create statistical analyses, helping to optimize processes.
